Scott Lien has been active in real estate development and investment since 1999 with experience spanning multiple sectors and geographies. He's managed over $5 billion of real estate investment and development in the U.S. and Europe, including multifamily, office, hotel, and retail assets.
Scott spent eight years with Vulcan Real Estate, a Paul G. Allen Company based in Seattle. At Vulcan, he helped advance over three million square feet of mixed-use development in the core of Seattle. Scott also worked as an Investment Manager for Hammerson Plc in London, one of the largest public real estate companies in Europe. At Hammerson, he focused on commercial leasing and investment in the UK and France.
Scott graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Community and Environmental Planning and a B.A. in Political Science. He also holds a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
Manuel Garibay has been active in real estate development, investment and debt for over twelve years with experience spanning multiple sectors and geographies. He's managed over $2.5 billion of real estate investment in the U.S., including multifamily, office, hotel, and retail assets.
Prior to co-funding Kamiak, Manuel served as a Vice President at Blackstone’s Equity Office platform working on a 3.7 million square foot office portfolio in the Pacific Northwest and was involved in acquisitions, leasing and dispositions totaling over $1.2 billion of transaction value. Equity Office is Blackstone’s office operating platform with a $18 billion portfolio focused on value-add investments nationwide. Prior to joining Blackstone’s Equity Office platform, Manuel worked on the portfolio management and acquisitions team at Vulcan Real Estate in Seattle. Manuel was part of the team that managed a three million square feet portfolio in Seattle including Amazon’s Corporate Headquarters and several residential projects. Manuel also worked for Clarion Partners and KeyBank Capital Markets.
Manuel graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
Justin Merriman has been active in design and construction for over ten years, with experience in a variety of asset types including multifamily, retail, and office. He has worked on both shell & core and tenant improvement projects in multiple jurisdictions throughout the Seattle area and is familiar with the challenges of urban construction.
Prior to joining Kamiak, Justin spent seven years as a Project Manager at GLY Construction, a large General Contractor performing work throughout Puget Sound. He worked on multiple large scale projects of $500+ million in value and totaling over three million square feet. He has experience working with large teams and coordinating many stakeholders to ensure projects are proactively managed and delivered to their schedule and budget expectations.
Justin graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. He has also attended the University of Washington and has completed two certificate programs; Construction Management and Commercial Real Estate.
